With the success of our Conference growing, causing us to move to a bigger facility, it has unfortunately affected our partnership with the Disney hotels. One of the reasons that we have not renewed our contract is because it was not very convenient for our attendees to travel 45 to an hour (depending on the day/traffic). It also became cost prohibitive since they are so far away from the venue.
Below are some options for you:
You can stay at Disney properties on your own and rent a rental car or set up transportation from the Disney hotel to the OCCC and back. There is a $15/per entry parking fee at the Orange County Convention Center (one entry).
The following hotels are Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels and provide complimentary transportation to Disney and are on our shuttle route offering complimentary shuttle service to and from Disney World:
Embassy Suites Orlando I-Drive CC
Residence Inn Orlando Convention Center
SpringHill Suites Orlando I-Drive
The following hotels provide shuttles at scheduled times in the morning to Disney with returns in the afternoon/evenings at scheduled times for around $21 per person round-trip. It depends on the hotel they are leaving from and what park they are going to as to the times and exact cost. Once they are at Disney they can use the Disney buses to go from park to park. They have to make a reservation for transportation at least 24 hours in advance and they must pay cash to the driver. There is also the option of booking a private car and if there is 4 people this would be about the same cost (about $48/car one way) and they can pay with cash or credit card and can go and return whenever they'd like. This also requires an advance reservation. The phone number to call to set this up is 407-423-5566.
These hotels also offer town cars which are conveniently located right at the entrance of our hotel.
Service is a $25.00 flat-rate to Universal Studios, $45.00 to any Disney Park or $32.00 to Disney Springs.
A metered taxi can be a few dollars more or less depending on traffic.
You may also choose to take public transportation. The Lynx bus system is the major public transportation option here in Orlando (www.GoLynx.com).
